How to Spend $0 on Your Boudoir Session Wardrobe

Doing a boudoir session is definitely an investment, and a splurge for most. Totally worth it, but an expense, nonetheless. Since you’re probably a busy working bride and may not have time to shop for nice lingerie, you’ll be happy to know you actually don’t need to spend anything at all when it comes to a boudoir wardrobe. Here are a few ideas on how to get away with spending $0 on outfits for your session. As my friend Michael at Sin Boudoir would say…”you don’t need ANY outfits for a boudoir shoot.”

COLLARED DRESS SHIRT

Almost everyone has a collared, button-down dress shirt in their closet. And if you don’t, your fiancé does! There’s nothing sexier than a women wearing a collared dress shirt. So long as it’s not 5 sizes too big 😉

BRA AND UNDERWEAR

When it comes to lingerie for your session, it doesn’t have to be fancy. You want the images to be about you and not what you’re wearing anyways. It can be simple as can be and still look amazing. A basic black set is always a good choice. Just remember that fit is the most important factor.

KIMONO

Thankfully for me, flowy kimonos are on trend and almost every girl has one. They have beautiful movement and fit any body type. You can even add it to a bra and underwear set and instantly have a great look.

SWEATER

I love using sweaters in a shoot! They scream “girl next door” and look great on everyone. Who doesn’t want that perfect “I woke up like this” look???

BED SHEET

Bed sheets are my favorite! Almost every single client chooses to use bed sheets as an outfit and it looks amazing! No clothing required! And it’s the easiest to pose with because you can move them around to hide whatever it is you want to cover up. And lucky for you, I have plenty of bed sheets.

MY BOUDOIR CLOSET

And just in case you need a little more, I have an array of outfits to choose from in the studio that work on just about any body type. From body suits, to dress shirts, to kimonos and more.

NOTHING

That’s right. You don’t need any wardrobe items at all. Many boudoir photo shoots are fully nude or end up there after the client gets comfortable. I’ve seen boudoir shoots fully nude from start to finish. Nothing wrong with that. And imagine how your man will appreciate it!
